Hi there! My name is (she/her/hers) and I am the Program Coordinator at the Lionel Cantú Queer Center at UC Santa Cruz!

I support the union campaign for Student Services Professionals to gain representation for many reasons. At this time, as unrepresented employees, we have little to no security with our jobs, which is particularly alarming considering our current social, political, and global climate. Without representation, our ability to advocate for our needs to be met in the workplace is severely limited and without representation, our wages, raises, and benefits are left unprotected and subject to change as the University of California sees fit.

Representation can support Student Services Professionals to earn a liveable wage, to have job security and to be able to advocate for ourselves and our colleagues in the workplace. Unionizing will help us create a working environment that is more equitable and supportive which will allow us to sustainably invest our time and energy into the work that we do! We deserve to have our needs met in the workplace, unionizing is a way to honor our own needs and the needs of our colleagues. Join me in our fight towards union representation!
